The Mountlake Terrace Art Commission’s Marc and Binky Bergsman Exhibit continues through the end of May at the Mountlake Terrace Library.

Binky Bergsman won second place for her encaustic entitled “Abstract 1” and third place for a pastel, “Storm Lake Cabin” in the 2006 Arts of the Terrace juried art show.

Award winning artist Binky Bergsman uses a variety of media including encaustic, pastel, and print. In encaustic Binky creates not just the art, but the medium itself, with molten beeswax, pigment, and other ingredients to insure it hardens and is durable. Binky loves the luminosity, layering of color, and feel of the finished product.

Marc Bergsman likes the excitement of transforming a blank sheet of paper into a tale.

Working in pastel and watercolor, he approaches his art like a puzzle that is divided and organized into spaces on the paper, playing the relationship of shape, light, and color to create a design. Marc’s award winning work includes landscapes, wildlife scenes, speeding locomotives and jazz bands.
