Brady and Cristin Clark, a married couple from Lynnwood, have been named Team of the Year by USA Curling after winning this year’s United States mixed doubles championship and then placing fourth at the world mixed doubles championships in Turkey.

Their placing at the world championships was the best ever for a mixed doubles team from the United States.

The award marks the first time USA Curling has named a mixed doubles twosome its Team of the Year. In previous years, the honor went to either mixed foursomes, or four-man or four-woman teams.

“We are very honored to be recognized as the first mixed doubles team to earn the Team of the Year Award,” Brady Clark said in a USA Curling release. “I think with the sport’s revolution and the possibility of having it added to the 2018 Olympics, it’s good timing and I’m happy that the committee and (USA Curling) has recognized us.”

“It feels incredible, and it is really an honor to be the first-ever mixed doubles Team of the Year,” Cristin Clark said in the release. “We really enjoy mixed doubles as we can curl together and to win this award as a team is very cool.”

The Clarks were previously honored as Team of the Year in 2009 along with their mixed teammates Philip Tilker and Bev Walter.
