Good to go away

Rube Goldberg, traffic engineer: Gov. Jay Inslee on Tuesday said he will not shut down the much-maligned express toll lanes on I-405, but he did unveil a plan that he said will make the traffic situation better for commuters (Page A6).

The governor also said that state officials are learning a lot from the experience — most notably, the importance of keeping their resumes up to date.

Channel-surfing the vast cultural wasteland: The venerable reality show “Survivior” returns tonight, with the tribes divided into three teams: Brains, Brawn and Beauty (The Clicker, Page B12).

It’s a good thing Donald Trump’s very busy with another reality show, because he’d have a hard time figuring out which team he should belong to.

Don’t know much about history: On this day in 1865, Columbia, South Carolina, was set ablaze as Confederate troops fled the city (Today in History, Page D12).

That sounds like what could happen if South Carolina voters don’t hand victory to Donald Trump in the GOP presidential primary Saturday.
