Briefs: Sno-Isle business librarian to present at South by Southwest

In March, Sno-Isle Libraries’ business librarian, Kassy Rodeheaver, will be presenting at the iconic South by Southwest, or SXSW, conference in Austin, Texas. Rodeheaver and Jay Lyman from the Seattle Public Library received notice last week that SXSW would like their presentation on how public libraries can help entrepreneurs for the event’s Interactive Festival in its Startup Village.
Poinsettia sale to aid Providence children’s association
Deadlines is Tuesday to place orders for Providence General Children’s Association’s annual Poinsettia Sale to benefit the health care needs of children in our community. The poinsettias are provided by Stadium Flowers and will be available for pick up at one of three locations the first week of December.
Port of Everett releases holiday fundraiser schedule
The Port of Everett has released its tentative Holiday on the Bay and Toys for Tots Toy Drive and Decorated Wreath Fundraiser schedule of events. The festivities are set for Saturday, Dec. 3, at Waterfront Center, 1205 Craftsman Way. Last year, the wreath auction raised nearly $1,000. Fortive CEO to make presentation at Chicago industrial conference
On Tuesday, Fortive Corporation’s president and CEO, James A. Lico, will be presenting at the Baird 2016 Industrial Conference in Chicago. The audio will be simultaneously webcast and the presentation will be archived on www.fortive.com. Fortive is headquartered in Everett.
