LYNNWOOD — A man was detained Sunday evening by two armed Lynnwood Gun shop employees while allegedly attempting to steal a vehicle.

The employees saw the man get into the vehicle around 5:45 p.m. near the business in the 20800 block of Highway 99.

They knew the vehicle’s owner and that the suspect, 33, had no reason to be inside, Lynnwood police Sgt. Sean Doty said.

The employees confronted the suspect and held him at gunpoint until police arrived.

“Fortunately, the suspect complied and was taken into custody without further incident and was booked into jail for investigation of attempted vehicle theft,” Doty said.
