Construction workers put the final piece of the west roof into place on Wednesday on the Washington State Football/Soccer Stadium in Seattle. The roof on the east side of the stadium was completed in May. Each side of the roof is 760 feet long and 720 feet wide, and weighs 2,600 tons. The stadium, which is next to Safeco Field, is scheduled for completion in August of 2002 and will be the home of the Seattle Seahawks. The stadium will have a seating capacity of 72,000, with 70 percent of the fans protected by the roof.
