Address three flaws in our response

There exists three reasons why the United States will lose the war on terrorism unless we grow up.
In Alexandria, Va., a foreign shock-operative is indicted on sundry charges of attempting to kill as many of us as he can because Allah told him to. A similar ostensible order by Allah caused an operative to attempt a suicide attack aboard an American Airlines jet. Why, I ask, are front-line terrorists being granted the constitutional guarantee of a trial before a jury of peers? Nowhere in the Constitution is addressed the issue of shock troops invading our country being granted due process in American courts.During times of war the enemy is shot on the spot while actively involved in attempts to kill a perceived enemy.
The announced policy that the government will not force from our nation’s airports 20,000 security screeners found to be high school dropouts defies logic. When I consider that those who successfully plotted the Sept. attacks upon the United States include doctors, lawyers and the university educated, how difficult can it be for them to continue successful attacks if at the front line of airport defense are those too lazy or too stupid to earn a high school diploma? Until this policy is modified drastically, the feet of this family remain steadfastly grounded during times of travel.
Of all the silliness in the aftermath of the attacks are myriad reports on the notion of “comfort foods.” Apparently, there exists a rather large segment of American society who are having a tough time reconciling the fact that our once-inviolate nation has been attacked most brutally. However, rather than devote themselves to an intelligent and resolute effort to understand and destroy the barbarian undeniably at our gates and beyond, the dolts have instead sought out Twinkies, Ho-Hos and rich gravy in order to cope. Several TV news buffoons have actually devoted significant time over the past months to the issue of identifying comfort foods and healthier alternatives.
In order to successfully combat that which seeks our wholesale destruction, I suggest we seek the sage wisdom of those who lived during the second world war. Their memories are indelible and hopefully their ready advice will wake us all up as hopefully we grow up.
