Are we motivated by the aroma of oil?

Since Saddam Hussein has been sitting exactly where President Bush I left him in 1992, one must wonder why President Bush II is so anxious to invade Iraq right now, with or without approval of the United Nations and with or without approval of the United States Congress.
Is it because the aroma of Iraqi oil in the nostrils of wealthy Republican businessmen is driving the White House?
