Elected officials should set example

Since Jeff Sax was elected to the Snohomish County Council with the support of the development industry, it seems as though he would be able to get the help he needs to comply with the permit process for building a house – or does he feel too important to follow the rules the rest of us have to follow?

I thought elected officials were supposed to set an example. We spent two years and nearly $50,000 to satisfy the requirements to divide our property so we could build a second house. Any ordinary citizen would have to tear down the illegal structure. We will be watching for the outcome of this controversy.
