50 years ago (1955)
Paul Tarutman and Janet Lamb, both South Junior High School students, earned the honor of being the first Boy and Girl of the Month selected by the Exchange Club for the year.
The Marysville Public Library board had its first meeting of the year and reorganized, since there were some personnel changes. Helen Johnson was president and Elizabeth Morris was secretary-treasurer.
25 years ago (1980)
Red Carpet Duce Realty expected completion of a new 1,700-square-foot office building at 2118 N. Broadway by February. The brick-and-cedar front and interior were designed by Impression Design and built by Randolf Construction. At a recent award banquet, the following salesmen were honored: Stan Thrasher, Bill Beeston, Bill Reed and Ed Wallis.
Realty Consultants moved its Marysville office from cramped quarters in the old Dairy Valley building on State Street to a new building at the same location. Peggy Scott was branch manager, Joel Boede was sales manager and Uldine Bakken was recently appointed sales manager.
