Career: He played at the University of Washington in the late 1960s before spending six years with the New York Jets. He was a member of the Super Bowl III champions and later played in the World Football League and Canadian Football League.

Postscript: Thompson retired from football and spent 10 years in the business world before returning to Lake Stevens 21 years ago at the age of 39. Now 60, he has served as pastor at Victory Foursquare Gospel Church in Marysville for 14 years.
