Koster should go with an open mind

Regarding the promotion of the Seattle Men’s Chorus coming to the Everett Civic Auditorium via tourism taxes, bravo. Their show is first-class and they also donate tickets to groups and youths in need.
The chorus has played all over the United States and foreign countries, and always sells out, and has a devoted following of benefactors and people who believe in diversity and acceptance of all people, and who enjoy great music and a good show.
County Council member John Koster’s insensitive comments are a disgrace for someone in his profession (Wednesday article, “Tourism tax use questioned”). A suggestion: He should get some sensitivity training and go to the show with an open mind. The 200 men who make up the chorus are first-rate and have wonderful voices and an energy that invigorates their audiences.
I have attended their Christmas shows for the past four years and see nothing but happy patrons and smiling faces. Koster should research a topic before he makes a discriminating, inflammatory comment. I hope the rest of the community doesn’t follow his poor example.
