Resident parking is a huge challenge

I live in a 46-unit apartment building on the corner of Hewitt and Lombard in Everett, directly across from the Everett Events Center. We only have street parking. When there is an event at the center, our parking on Lombard is posted with barricades (no parking). As a taxpayer I feel it is unfair that the Events Center does this so they can park buses filled with people from other areas.
Why do we have to suffer so the Events Center can fill its pockets? We who live here have to move our vehicles to a paid parking lot, or park blocks away. Seventy-five percent of the people living here are elderly and can’t afford the $10 parking fee every time there is an event.
I have heard people who live around here wanting to cause trouble because of this. I think all of us need to catch someone’s attention who can do something about this ongoing problem. The Events Center has its own parking lot. Is this a city decision to take parking from us? It needs to stop. To me, it is stealing from the pockets of people who pay their city taxes so they can park at their own residence.
