The 3Cats Cafe, at historic Bayview Corner on Whidbey Island, is now open for dinner Thursdays through Saturdays.
On Saturday, at Bayview Corner’s Second Saturday event, cafe owners Gene and Tamar Felton will introduce their “plates to share and wines to pair,” a tapas- and wine-tasting menu. The menu will be available from 5 to 8 p.m. on second Saturdays.
Music jams on most Thursdays will start at 7 p.m.
The 3Cats Cafe was inspired by the historic 4Cats in Barcelona, Spain, a cafe famous for its relationship with Pablo Picasso.
The 3Cats is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily for breakfast and lunch, and from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays (happy hour 4 to 5 p.m.). It is located at the Bayview Cash Store at 5603 Bayview Road, seven miles from the Clinton ferry dock on Whidbey Island; 360-321-CATS.
Blazing Saddles Restaurant and Lounge is set to open in mid-September in Stanwood.
The old Cobblestone building on 102nd Avenue NW in west Stanwood has been renovated to suit the new Tex-Mex restaurant and country dance nightclub.
The proprietors, Cookie Spirk and Jim Leslie, who many will remember as members of the country band Silvana, later performed in the bands Chickenhead and the Jim Creek Band at the Cobblestone Restaurant.
