Brush fire out quickly thanks to rapid response

On Aug. 4, a motorist working on his vehicle in dry grass at Langus Riverfront Park in Everett sparked a brush fire and fled the scene. The Marysville and Everett Fire departments rapid response and professional conduct quickly brought the fire under control.
First on scene was a city of Everett Park Ranger, who relayed additional information to dispatchers.
With conditions so dry throughout the state, a bit of common sense will prevent additional fires and protect wild lands and our property from destruction.
Thank you Everett and Marysville Fire teams for protecting our parks.
