Rankin Reeking

Louis Rankin’s unwillingness to run forward is really hurting Washington. The guy has so much ability to really be a play-maker, but he just can’t run without stopping, juking, looking for a hole. On third-and-1, Washington needs a back who will just run behind the blockers and pick up the yard instead of going for the home run. Rankin’s shoulders move more than his legs do and by the time he goes, the defense has collapsed. Someone has to get in his ear at halftime (it looked like Mike Denbrock just did) and tell him to just run the ball and stop thinking so much.
