More Halloween fun

Published 9:00 pm Thursday, October 26, 2006

While some Halloween events have started during the past week, many still are going strong in the last few days before the most ghoulish of all days, Oct. 31.

From 6 to 9 tonight, families can turn out at the Howl-O-Ween benefit for some Halloween fun and by doing so, help some furry friends in need. Paddywack Pet Supplies in Mill Creek, at 15415 Main St., hosts a party for pets and their owners of all ages, including treats, games and a costume contest. Admission is $10, $5 for kids 12 and under. Proceeds benefit the Best Friends Animal Society. Call 425-357-6510 or go to www.paddywack.net.

Seattle’s trick-or-treat on the waterfront, open to kids of all ages, celebrates Halloween from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 29 at the Seattle Aquarium, 1483 Alaskan Way, with appearances by J.P. Patches and the Seafair pirates, refreshments and arts and crafts. Admission is $12.50, $8.50 for ages 6-12, $5.50 for ages 3-5, and no charge for those under age 3. Call 206-386-4320 or go to www.seattleaquarium for more information.

Everett Events Center’s Frozen Fright Night starts at 5 p.m. Oct. 31, as the Comcast Community Ice Rink adjacent to the Everett Events Center opens its doors for a night of icy Halloween fun. From the gourd puck shot and pumpkin curling contests to ice skating, face-painting, fortune tellers, a costume contest, music and of course, Halloween snacks, kids of all ages are invited to avoid the weather elements of trick-or-treating and just focus on the fun. Advance tickets cost $15, $10 for kids 3-12, and the event is free for those under age 3. On the day of the event, costs are $16, $11 for kids 3-12, and free for those under age 3; for more information, call 425-322-2600; www.everetteventscenter.com.
