Well, if Washington wants an excuse to play Jake Locker – as a colleague put it at halftime – its got one. The offense has just five first downs and Carl Bonnell is 5-for-12 for 50 yards and two interceptions. That’s seven interceptions in six quarters, and whether they’re his fault or not, they’re happening. If nothing else, maybe Locker gives the team a spark.

Other numbers: Washington has 110 yards on 30 plays and ASU has 193 on 29. The Sun Devils have eight penalties for 60 yards but Washington isn’t really taking advantage of it. The Huskies have three penalties for 25 yards but it seems like more. The UW has held the ball for about 3 1/2 minutes longer.

Louis Rankin has 38 yards on 12 carries, not very good. Ryan Torrain has 67 yards on 12 carries and Keegan Herring has 22 yards on three carries for ASU. Sean Douglas is averaging 32 yards on three punts for the UW, a pretty startling number for a guy who has been really good this year.
