Kickoff is in about 10 minutes, the UW band is on the field and the stands are filling up. It’s a beautiful day, clear and in the low 40s. So weather won’t be an excuse.
There seems to be more interest in the Ohio State/Michigan game than the Apple Cup, at least in the press box.
No real news as game time approaches. Isaiah Stanback is down on the sideline, as expected. WSU fans chanted something to Michael Braunstein during warm-ups, but it was hard to make out what they were saying. Felix Sweetman warmed up alongside Carl Bonnell, but Sonny Shackelford didn’t take any practice throws.
Arizona is hammering Oregon, which is pretty shocking. The Wildcats I guess have really turned things around. And that’s a really bad result for Washington State. Arizona’s win gives it six wins, and if WSU loses today, you’d have to think if the Wildcats and Cougars end up tied for a final bowl spot, it would go to Arizona, which won the head-to-head meeting.
