Video Board Up and Running

The new video board at Hec Edmundson Pavilion is up and running and it looks great. The picture quality is remarkably clear and it has worked with no problems.

It showed mug shots of each of the starters as they were introduced, and had live game action while the game was being played. During timeouts, it had graphics like scores from other Pac-10 games and Pac-10 standings as well as crowd shots. Overall, it’s a great addition to the arena. Even some of the players seem to be checking it out now and then.

As for the women’s game, the Huskies lead 40-31 at halftime. They’re clearly playing more aggressively than they have recently, not settling simply for jump shots. And they’re getting good balance, with strong play from the bench. Cameo Hicks is having her worst game of the year, getting shutout and picking up two fouls in the first half, but Andrea Plouffe has 10 points and Cheri Craddock and Jill Bell are having nice games off the bench. Washington’s halfcourt offense is still pretty weak and the UW wasn’t doing a good job closing down on WSU’s shooters, and the Cougars made several 3-pointers to stay in the game before a late run by the UW.
