Edmonds

Cemetery board seeks member

A volunteer is needed to fill a four-year term on the Edmonds Cemetery Board.

Board members meet at 4 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month to discuss issues involving the city and Edmonds Memorial Cemetery. Candidates should have an interest in local history and a willingness to serve the public.

Applications and information are available at City Hall at 121 Fifth Ave. N., or by calling 425-771-0247. Applications can be dropped off or mailed to City Hall by 4:30 p.m. Oct. 11.

Everett

Riverside pizza party coming up

The Riverside Neighborhood Association is offering pizza for $1 a slice at its monthly meeting Sept. 11 at the North Middle School Library, 2514 Rainier Ave.

The group is scheduled to introduce its new executive board, review current committees and projects, and take input from residents on future projects.

Silver Lake area to meet Thursday

The Silver Lake Neighborhood Association is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at Bethany at Silver Lake, 2235 Lake Heights Drive. Paul Carr with the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency is the guest speaker.

Lake Stevens

City Council workshop today

The Lake Stevens City Council is scheduled to meet in a workshop tonight.

A presentation by the Puget Sound Regional Councilis on the agenda.

The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Lake Stevens School District Educational Services Center, 12309 22nd Street NE.

Lynnwood

Employees get national training

Lynnwood Fire Inspector Kathy Baker and Lynnwood Building Inspector Stacy Criswell are planning to receive training this October at the National Fire Academy.

Their training, in fire and life safety plans review, would help Baker and Criswell determine whether new buildings in Lynnwood include fire protection and life-safety features.

Lynnwood is one of the few cities nationwide with a fire inspector and a building official accepted to the academy. Lynnwood Fire Inspector Jerry Job also plans to attend the Academy in October to study advanced fire prevention and code enforcement.

Marysville

City starts jewelry class

The Marysville parks and recreation department is offering a jewelry making class beginning Monday.

The class is scheduled for 6:30 to 8 p.m Mondays through Sept. 24 at the Ken Baxter Senior-Community Center, in Comeford Park at 514 Delta Ave. The class costs $15 and includes materials. For more information or to register call 360-363-8450.

Mukilteo

Bids due for Lighthouse Park

Today is the last day for companies to submit bids for the contract to renovate Mukilteo Lighthouse Park.

The first phase of renovations, scheduled to begin this fall, is expected to include landscaping, paving and fencing at the park. A new restroom building and picnic shelters are planned to be installed.
