Thursday afternoon football notes

Not much news out of Tyrone Willingham’s press conference today. Of the topics covered, here’s a couple of highlights:
It’s still unknown if J.R. Hasty will travel with the team to Stanford, Willingham said, which if he doesn’t, could mean the Huskies would travel with only three tailbacks for the first time this season.
E.J. Savannah, who has been bothered by stingers in recent weeks, has been at full strenghth this week. Wilson Afoa, who has been limited this week in practice with a shoulder injury, is still expected to play against Stanford.
And if you haven’t seen it already, here’s our story from today’s paper on freshman linebacker Mason Foster, who has been one of the bright spots on the defense. There’s also a notebook leading off with a little more detail on the benching of Byron Davenport.
The San Jose Mercury News’ Jon Wilner picks the Huskies to win this week, using pretty funny “Costanza” logic. I like it, Jon.
The Mercury News also has this story on Washington’s struggles.
