A quiet Monday

Because today is Veterans Day, there isn’t the usual press conference with Tyrone Willingham and players today. Willingham will be on his weekly radio show on KJR (950 AM) at 4:30 this afternoon, however, if you want to tune in.

The school did put out it’s weekly release today, which right now lists the starting quarterback as Jake Locker or Carl Bonnell. Also, the Hawaii game has been scheduled for a 8:30 p.m. kickoff pacific time. That game will be on ESPN or ESPN 2. A time for the Apple Cup still has not been picked. We should hear that news soon and I’ll be sure to pass it along once we get it.

Here’s the latest from the Oregonian, looking at the ejections, the Yvenson Bernard “fumble” at the goal line, and the hit on Jake Locker.

Speaking of Locker, we had a couple of stories on his injury today. There was this notebook, with word that Locker is expected to make a full recovery. We also had this column looking at a player injury through a reporter’s (in this case, mine) eyes.

If you want to start reading up on the suddenly struggling California Bears (remember when they were ranked No. 2 and could have beaten Oregon State to move into the top spot?) you can check out the Oakland Tribune, the San Francisco Chronicle, or the Contra Costa Times.
