Wow! Huskies land two big-timers

Just when you think Ty Willingham doesn’t have a prayer to save his job, he snags two big-time recruits that very well may do that.

Meet tight end Kavario Middleton and wideout Jermaine Kearse, both from Lake High School. Middleton (6-6, 240) is rated the No. 2 player at his position in the country. Everybody wanted this kid, including, well, everybody. He might even play defensive end. Kid that size runs a 4.75 in the 40. Gad. We’re talking a Big-Time recruit.

Kearse was another kid everyone wanted, including Arizona State, Cal, Oregon and Oregon State. Although he needs to bulk up (he 6-2, 175), he runs a 4.55. He also has a 3.2 GPA, which keeps admissions off his back.

So what does this mean for Willingham? Probably a lot. It probably means he’s at Washington next year, regardless of how the Huskies do against Hawaii Saturday night. If these two had any indications that Ty was in immediate trouble, I can’t see them verballing with Washington.

Ty haters won’t like this, but picking up these two is a major coup for the entire coaching staff. Of course, a lot can happen between now and signing day, but everything I’ve heard today says that these verbals are as solid as it gets.
