Baer out?

Reports are coming out that defensive coordinator Kent Baer has been fired, but so far the school is not confirming that. A school spokesman said there is “No announcement,” to be made, and that there is “No planned announcement. The staff is still the same today as it was yesterday.” However several media outlets are reporting that Baer is out.

I’ll check back with more as I get it.

If Baer is in fact gone, this decision isn’t that shocking given the struggles of the defense. It will be interesting, however, to see who the Huskies can get to fill the job given the questions surrounding Tyrone Willingham’s future. Is a qualified candidate going to take the risk of coming to Washington knowing he could be gone if the head coach is fired a year later?
