Huskies hold on for the win

Well, the Huskies are no longer winless in the Pac-10 after tonight’s 78-70 win over Oregon. The finish was more tense than that score might indicate, as Oregon cut the lead down to three points with just 1:43 left.

Ryan Appleby, who finished with 19 points, then made a huge three-pointer on Washington’s next possession, and Oregon never got closer than five points from there.

Jon Brockman led the way with an impressive 21-point, 16 rebound performance on seven of 10 shooting.

Maarty Leunen led the Ducks with 22 points and Malik Hairston added 20.
