New merchants, events lined up at art walk

Several new merchants and many new artists mark this second Edmonds Art Walk of the new year a must see event. From 5 to p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, participating downtown Edmonds merchants keep their doors open to feature displays by guest artists. Rainbow spinners mark the path, and maps are available in every location.
Live Music this month includes guitarist Chris Sharp at John L Scott Real Estate, guitarist Matt Meldon at J Rankin Jewelers and Rich Cole performing jazz at Cole Gallery. Johnny’s Sports Bar and Grill will be hosting free salsa lessons, and Joan Archer at Aria Gallery will present a live art demonstration.
Art exhibits include:
Ambience: Melanie the “Shady Lady” designs vintage lamps with custom shades.
Aria Studio Gallery: Watercolors by Joan Archer and photos by Leah Goodwin.
Arista Wine Cellars: Luscious encaustics by Willow Bader.
Autumns Framing and Gallery: Irina Milton’s classical oil sill lifes evoke the essence of old world luxury.
Bluefish Designs: Shutterbug Andrea Huysing finds beauty in the simplest things.
C’est la Vie: Cheryl Waale finds inspiration in the geometry of nature.
Coldwell Banker Bain: Sharon Baker, conceptual art works and hand-hooked rugs.
Cole Gallery: Greg Prince presents a lively collection of watercolors and acrylics.
Edmonds Bookshop: Jesse Good’s serene, whimsical mixed media paintings.
Arts Now Gallery at ECC: Quilters Anonymous, Edge Graduates and a Mixed Media Show.
Francis Anderson Center: Shows original art from local artists.
Gallery North: Martha Brouwer, Sandra Kahler and Cheryl Richey, Birds in Art.
HouseWARES: Kelly Tissot creates abstract acrylics in rich and inviting colors.
