LAKE STEVENS — Two people were injured in a three-car accident that closed Highway 9 for a half-hour Sunday.

All lanes of the highway were blocked following the 1 p.m. accident at the intersection of 20th Street SE, according to Travis Hots, battalion chief for Lake Stevens Fire District 8.

Paramedics rushed two people to the Colby campus of the Providence Everett Medical Center.

Twenty gallons of gasoline leaked onto the road from a pickup truck that was reportedly rear-ended in the crash, Hots said.

The Washington State Patrol is investigating.
