Two injured in collision west of Darrington

Two people were injured in a collision on Highway 530 about two miles west of Darrington on Monday afternoon, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Vehicles driven by a 45-year-old Darrington man and a 41-year-old Darrington woman hit head on at 1:39 p.m., according to a memo from the State Patrol. Each was traveling alone.

The man, driving eastbound in a 1987 Ford Ranger, crossed the centerline and hit the 2002 Hyundai Accent being driven westbound by the woman, according to the memo. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.

The man was taken to Cascade Valley Hospital in Arlington. If or where the woman received treatment was not released.

Information on their condition was unavailable Monday night.
