Everett
Housing Authority aces performance audit
The Everett Housing Authority’s internal controls are adequate to safeguard public assets, according to an annual accountability audit released by Washington State Auditor Brian Sonntag’s office this week.
In the areas examined, the audit found the agency complied with state laws and regulations and its own policies.
The Housing Authority employs more than 100 full- and part-time employees and generates $24.5 million in enterprise fund operating revenues.
It owns 623 subsidized apartments, and it manages a total of 1,026 housing units and allocated 2,363 vouchers through its Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program last year.
Its policy is set by a six-member board of commissioners, appointed by the mayor of Everett. Commissioners hire an executive director who administers daily operations.
There have been no findings raising questions about the Housing Authority’s during the last 13 audits.
