Firefighters and emergency medical technicians plan to go head-to-head against cops in a series of drag races to help fight domestic violence in Snohomish County.

The event, “RID — Rapid Intervention Drags,” is set for 6 to 10 p.m. April 25 at the Evergreen State Fair speedway in Monroe.

Firefighters and law enforcement officers will race their personal vehicles against each other to raise money for the nonprofit Washington State Coalition Against Domestic Violence.

The event also includes a rock-wall climb, vendors and displays, and a beer garden. Admission is $10, free for children 14 and younger. Call 800-526-9979 or go to www.ridrags.com.
