Lake Stevens
City plans meeting on library contract fee
Lake Stevens is asking residents to weigh in on the city’s possible annexation into the Sno-Isle Library District.
The open-house meeting is 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. April 21 at the Lake Stevens School District Educational Services Center, 12309 22nd Street NE.
Currently, the city pays a fee to the Sno-Isle Library District to run the Lake Stevens Library. Voters will be asked in a May 20 ballot measure whether property owners should pay a tax directly to the district.
The meeting will provide information on what would change if the measure were approved and will give residents a chance to tell the city what should be done with the money it wouldn’t be paying to the library district.
