Bothell

Apply for your passport Saturday

People can apply for passports at a special event Saturday.

Applications will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the City of Bothell Municipal Court at 10116 NE 183rd St.

People must bring their birth certificates or naturalization paperwork, as well as two passport photos, two checks or money orders, and photo identification.

Everett

Learn how to identify Pacific Northwest trees

Forest ecologist and author Stephen Arno is scheduled at 7 p.m. today to give a talk and slide show on identifying trees of the Pacific Northwest at Everett Public Library, 2702 Hoyt Ave. in downtown Everett.

Arno, a retired U.S. Forest Service researcher, has a Ph.D. from the University of Montana.

Last year, Mountaineers Books published his book “Northwest Trees: Identifying and Understanding the Region’s Native Trees.” The event is free.

Lake Stevens

Reception tonight for artist Christina Harvey

The Lake Stevens Arts Commission is planning a reception Monday for the public to meet local artist Christina Harvey.

The event is scheduled for 5 to 6:30 p.m. at City Hall, 1812 Main St.

Harvey’s prints and acrylic paintings will be on display and refreshments are planned.
