Everett
Council approves sale of 25 acres to Boeing
The Everett City Council on Wednesday approved the sale of 25 acres of industrial-zoned land in the 6000 block of Seaway Boulevard to the Boeing Co.
Between 1998 and 2006, Boeing discovered a release of chlorinated solvents on property next to the city-owned lot.
The contaminants migrated to the city-owned property and were discharged into a creek, according to a city staff report.
The sale will allow Boeing to clean up the property as part of an agreement with the Washington State Department of Ecology.
The property must be sold for at least 90 percent of its appraised value.
