Deputies search Stillaguamish River for missing ATV rider

DARRINGTON – The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a man who reportedly drove an all-terrain vehicle into the Stillaguamish River late tonight.

A witness told police he saw the man drive into the river about 10:15 p.m. in the area of Segelson Round Mount Road and Swede Heaven Road, about six miles west of Darrington.

Rescue teams found the four-wheeler on the riverbank about an hour later. They were still searching for the driver.

Sheriff’s office rescuers were using a helicopter, a hovercraft and the sheriff’s office dive team to search for the man.
