Seahawks make more rosters moves

RENTON — Having made 10 roster moves in the past 24 hours, the Seattle Seahawks might not be done.

When head coach Mike Holmgren was asked Wednesday about the fact that his team still has two kickers, he hinted that that could change.

“Everyone stay on your toes,” he said. “There’s a chance we’re not finished making moves this week.”

Veteran Olindo Mare did all the kicking in Sunday’s opener, but rookie Brandon Coutu is still on the roster.

Earlier Wednesday, the Seahawks added veteran receiver Samie Parker after placing starting right guard Rob Sims on injured reserve. Holmgren said that Floyd Womack will replace Sims in the starting lineup. Sims is out for the season with a torn triceps muscle.

On Tuesday, the Seahawks released three players, put a fourth — receiver Nate Burleson — on injured reserve, activated two suspended players and added punter Jon Ryan and wide receiver Billy McMullen.

The team now has four healthy receivers. Courtney Taylor and Logan Payne appear to be the likely starters for Sunday’s game against San Francisco, but Holmgren said that could change during the practice week.
