RENTON — Seattle Seahawks guard Rob Sims underwent successful surgery on his torn biceps muscle Thursday morning, the team announced.

Sims suffered the injury during last Sunday’s season opener at Buffalo.

“He hurt it in the game and kept playing,” coach Mike Holmgren said during his weekly press conference on Wednesday. “Bless his heart.”

Sims was placed on injured reserve earlier this week and will miss the rest of the 2008 season. Veteran Floyd Womack will replace Sims as the team’s starting right guard.
