RENTON — Seattle Seahawks head coach Mike Holmgren said Friday afternoon that Courtney Taylor and Logan Payne will be his starting wide receivers in Sunday’s home opener against San Francisco.

The rest of the receiving corps is still in flux as the Seahawks try to overcome the season-ending injury to Nate Burleson. Holmgren confirmed that practice-squad player Michael Bumpus could be added to the active roster and play in the game, while backup quarterback Seneca Wallace also is likely to see time at wide receiver.

Veterans Billy McMullen and Samie Parker were signed this week, but it’s still unclear what their roles will be.

Meanwhile, cornerback Marcus Trufant will play Sunday with a broken bone in his left hand.

Trufant suffered the injury during Thursday’s practice. He practiced Friday while wearing a club-like cast, but coach Mike Holmgren said Trufant is likely to wear a less cumbersome protective device in Sunday’s game.

“It’s a part of football,” Trufant said. “If I’ve got to cast it up, that’s what I’ve got to do.”
