Seahawks list Koren Robinson as a starter

RENTON — While a lot can happen in the days leading up to the Seattle Seahawks’ game on Sunday, the depth chart that was released Wednesday morning included one significant change.

Koren Robinson, who will wear No. 18, is listed as a starting wide receiver. Robinson, who was signed Tuesday, joins Courtney Taylor in the starting lineup.

Billy McMullen and Michael Bumpus are listed as the top backups, with Tuesday addition Keary Colbert behind Robinson and McMullen. Colbert will wear No. 13.

Bobby Engram and Deion Branch don’t figure into the current depth chart because they are still trying to recover from injuries. Both are likely to return after next weekend’s bye, at which time they should challenge for starting jobs.

Bumpus and Josh Wilson are still listed as the top return men, although Robinson could factor in there as well.

As of Wednesday morning, the Seahawks still had 54 players on their roster. The trade for Colbert was still being finalized, and when it is, the team will have to make a move. Kicker Brandon Coutu and defensive end Baraka Atkins have been healthy scratches in each of the first two regular-season games, so they would appear to be candidates to be released.

Robinson took the roster spot vacated when Logan Payne was placed on injured reserve Tuesday. Payne is out for the season after tearing a knee ligament in Sunday’s loss to San Francisco.

Another transaction that was announced Wednesday morning was the addition of wide receiver Trent Shelton to the practice squad. Shelton went to training camp with the team but did not make the final 53-man roster. No announcement was made as to whom will be released from the practice squad.
