Robinson has knee injury; Sunday’s status unclear

RENTON — The anticipated return of former Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Koren Robinson might be delayed.
Robinson was limited by what the Seahawks are calling a knee injury during Thursday’s practice, marking the second consecutive day in which the 28-year-old wideout did not finish a session. The NFL’s revised policy on injury information does not require teams to make public a player’s game status until Fridays, and so Robinson’s availability for the Sunday game against St. Louis won’t be known until today.
Robinson was not allowed to talk to reporters Thursday.
He was one of two potential starters who were added to the injury list on Thursday. Defensive tackle Rocky Bernard sat out the entire practice with a hip injury, and his status will also be updated today.
Left tackle Walter Jones (hip) and cornerback Kelly Jennings (rib) sat out a second day of practices, but coach Mike Holmgren has said that both are expected to play Sunday.
Robinson’s limited practice reps further clouded a position that’s already had plenty of issues this year. Most of the practice work went to Billy McMullen, Michael Bumpus, Deion Branch and newcomer Keary Colbert. Branch is still coming back from February knee surgery and appears unlikely to play in Sunday’s game.
Like Robinson, Colbert was added to the roster earlier this week. The five-year veteran is trying to get up to speed as quickly as possible so that he can contribute Sunday.
“I’ll be ready,” said Colbert, who went to training camp with the Denver Broncos but was traded to the Seahawks on Tuesday. “Physically, I’ve been playing, so I’m in shape. Mentally, that’s going to be the challenge.”
Robinson, who played his first four NFL seasons in Seattle, has a better grasp of the Seahawks’ system but is trying to get back into football shape after spending the offseason and training camp away from the game.
