Everett
Naval Station Everett testing new alarms
Naval Station Everett has been testing a new emergency warning and notification system throughout September.
The testing has included various alarms, voice messages and music.
During actual emergencies, the system can be used to notify base personnel about the event.
Among the more noticeable features of the testing has been a daily broadcast of military bugle call at 8 a.m.
Brief testing of the sound system at full volume is expected to continue once a week at midday.
Morning colors and a flag-raising ceremony are expected to continue indefinitely, although the base plans to lower the volume of the music, according to a Navy press release.
