Mukilteo
Historian to discuss lighthouse on Thursday
Historian Mildred Andrews is scheduled to speak in Mukilteo on Thursday.
The meeting of the Mukilteo Historical Society is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Rosehill Community Center, 304 Lincoln Ave.
Andrews and her associate, Julie Koler, plan to share details on their successful effort to have the grounds and other buildings around the Mukilteo Lighthouse placed on the National Register of Historic Places. Before, only the light tower itself and the keeper’s quarters had achieved historical status.
Also scheduled for the meeting are an update on Coast Guard plans to remove the antique Fresnel lens from the lighthouse, and a presentation of names for the 2009 slate of officers.
Refreshments are planned.
