Locker time table remains the same

Jake Locker saw a hand specialist Wednesday, and Tyrone Willingham said today that the long-term prognosis is still the same as when Locker had the surgery following the Stanford game.
“It’s as we thought, it was a complex injury and the time table will be exactly what we thought it will be,” Willingham said. “There will be later decisions based on the healing process that takes place, so I think that’ll probably be another two weeks or so until he goes back to have it looked at again and they’ll see what needs to be done from there.
Asked if the original six to eight week prognosis was still accurate, Willingham said, “Nothing has changed along that line. Anytime you get to that point, you’re in danger of not being available. We’ll make the smart decision from there. It’s always the player’s health first and the team second.”
For those not wanting to do the math at home, six weeks from the injury (and a few days less than that from the surgery, which was on the following Monday) would be the Nov. 8 game against Arizona State. Eight weeks would be the Apple Cup on Nov 22.
A few other notes from today:
Apparently an illness of sorts is going around, and has limited Johri Fogerson and Senio Kelemete, amongst others, in practice this week.
Willingham said that he doesn’t know which tailback will start, but the Huskies should go into the game with three healthy bodies at that position in Terrance Dailey, Willie Griffin and Brandon Johnson.
