Monday afernoon notes

In case you want to read more about the Huskies while watching Monday Night Football…
Not a lot of real news came out of today’s press conference. The Huskies came out of the Oregon State game pretty healthy, so everybody that played last week should be available again this weekend. Willingham said he is also hoping to get Johri Fogerson and David Freeman back, though the status of both is still undetermined.
A lof of today’s questions naturally revolved around Tyrone Willingham playing his former team. Willingham, of course, tried to downplay the fact that he’s going against the school that fired him four years ago.
“I am aware that it is Notre Dame,” he said. “For me, and I think what I always try to do is take the Tyrone Willingham out of things. It’s not about me. It’s about the two teams from 2008 that will line up on the field and play. And the team that plays the best that day will win.”
Also for anyone still wanting to go to the game, about 1,000 tickets were left as of early this afternoon.
Willingham also does a radio show on KJR in the afternoons, and today they also had Jake Locker on as a guest.
Because Locker hasn’t been available a bunch to the media since his injury, I figure it’s worth passing on a few notes to those who weren’t listening.
Asked when he’d be back, Locker said, “I really can’t tell you. I’m in this cast for another three and a half weeks.”
Locker said he will then have the plate in his thumb removed and go from there. He went on to add that he has one plate, 14 pins and “a couple of screws” in his hand.
Locker said he’s back to lifting weights, but hasn’t been cleared to run yet, though he expects to be in a week or so.
