Plant along Everett sound wall this week
The Riverside Neighborhood Association seeks volunteers to help plant along the concrete sound barrier wall at Summit Avenue between 25th and 26th streets from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday and from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday. Historical walk offered in Snohomish Saturday
The Snohomish Historical Society offers a guided walking tour of the historic downtown Snohomish business district at 10 a.m. Saturday beginning and ending at the Snohomish Visitor’s Information Center, 1301 First St. The cost is $10; free for members. Camp Fire hosts shredding event
The Camp Fire USA Snohomish County Council and Pemco Insurance offer a Shredding and Hard Drive Destruction event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Fluke Corp., 9028 Evergreen Way, Everett. The costs for computer hard drive destruction is $20, or $50 for computer, monitor, keyboard and hard drive. A file-size box of paper can be shredded for a suggested donation of $5. Learn about Medicare for seniors on Tuesday
Regence BlueShield offers educational seminars about Medicare options for seniors at 10 a.m. Tuesday at various providers. Senior centers need Halloween costumes
The Merry Haven Care Center seeks donations for its senior centers. House plants, Beanie Babies, gently used dolls, large-print word searches and crossword puzzles, Bibles, small pumpkins, adult costumes and wrapped Halloween candy can be dropped off at 800 10th St., Snohomish. Food and kids’ health assistance offered
Positive Women’s Network says more residents can qualify for the Basic Food Program and Apple Health for Kids Program. As of Oct. 1, an individual’s minimum monthly income could be $1,734 and a family of four could earn $3,534 to qualify. Applications for both programs can be completed over the phone. Community Emergency Response Teams train
Fire District No. 1 offers Community Emergency Response Team training from 6 to 10 p.m., Monday and Thursday through Nov. 24 at the Mariner Fire Station, 12310 Meridian Ave., Everett. Learn about readiness, basic disaster first aid, search and rescue operations and how to put out small fires.
