Members needed for library board
The city is seeking volunteers to fill openings on the library board.
Board members advise the Sno-Isle Library system on providing service to the Lake Stevens area.
Board meetings are determined on a month-to-month basis.
Applications are available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays at City Hall, 1812 Main St.

Reception for artist set
The Lake Stevens Arts Commission is planning a reception for acrylic artist Ricardo Espinoza on Friday.

Lynnwood
Donations for kids sought
Clothes for Kids, a nonprofit group that provides clothing to children in need, is seeking donations.
The group, based in Lynnwood, provides clothing to children in the Edmonds School District.
The group is looking for both financial and in-kind donations. Money is needed for new underwear, socks, shoes and other needs. In-kind donations of new and gently used children’s clothing are requested.

Mill Creek
Groups meets to discuss building senior center
The Mill Creek senior center advisory group is set to hold three meetings at 7:30 p.m. today and on Nov. 5 and Nov. 10 to discuss how to develop a senior center. All the meetings take place at Mill Creek City Hall, 15728 Main St.
The advisory group is made up of three City Council members, two Senior Center Foundation board members and two citizens. Additional meetings are being scheduled as well.

Snohomish
New off-leash dog park to open Saturday
Snohomish County officials are set to dedicate a new off-leash dog area on Saturday at Willis Tucker Community Park, 6705 Puget Park Drive, Snohomish.
Festivities are expected to begin at 11 a.m. with a canine costume contest at the park’s amphitheater, followed by a ribbon cutting at 11:45 a.m.
Snohomish County animal control will be available with information on licensing. Snohomish Off-Leash Dog Group will provide information on volunteer opportunities, and Dog-On-it-Parks will have agility equipment to test a pet’s abilities.

Arlington
Lane closure may cause delays
Drivers on 172nd Street NE at 85th Avenue NE can expect delays through Nov. 7 while construction continues on the south shoulder of the road.
One lane is set to be closed during construction, Arlington public works officials said. Since 172nd Street also is state Highway 531, the state Department of Transportation is managing the project. City officials, however, are prepared to take questions.

Airport announces runway, taxiway closures
Arlington Municipal Airport is making improvements along two taxiways and a runway.
The work is set to close taxiways C and D and the shoulder of runway 11-29, prohibiting use of the area today through Thursday, airport officials said.
New topsoil is being placed along the taxiways and runway and is scheduled to be seeded Friday.
