PHILADELPHIA — An Ivy League graduate has been ordered by a federal judge in Philadelphia to serve four years in prison in a $100,000 identity-theft scheme.

Edward Anderton’s sentence is one year less than the one for his glamorous ex-girlfriend, Jocelyn Kirsch. The sentence for Kirsch, a former Drexel University student, is more severe because she continued to commit crimes after their arrests.

Before his sentencing Friday, the 25-year-old Anderton, of Everett, told the judge he was a large part of Kirsch’s downfall.

The jet-setting pair admit they stole the identities of friends and neighbors to obtain luxury goods and take lavish trips. Travel photos of the stylish, young couple were released by police and have been widely circulated online.

Anderton is a University of Pennsylvania graduate.
