Mariners sign 1B Branyan

The Mariners will announce within the next half-hour that they have signed Russell Branyan, a left-handed-hitting first baseman who batted .250 with the Brewers this year.
Branyan, 32, hit 12 home runs and drove in 20 runs in 132 at-bats, with 42 strikeouts and 19 walks. He played 35 games at first base and five at third.
