Country musician giving away a song online

Good book as guide book: Country songwriter Steve Wallace is giving fans a chance to hear his music for free.

Wallace, who lived in Everett in 2001 and 2002, will give away his track, “The Bible Is My Guide,” through Country Weekly magazine starting Monday.

Fans can download the song at www.countryweekly.com/freemusic. To hear it today, go to Wallace’s site at songramp.com/smw1234. The track will also be included in the new issue of Country Weekly, also scheduled to hit stands on Monday.

Wallace, who now lives in Anderson, Ind., made headlines in 2005, when he sued Britney Spears. He claimed he wrote “Sometimes,” a hit for the pop star in 1999. The case was later dismissed, according to People.com.
