Why not use other county air fields?

Published 2:33 pm Friday, January 16, 2009

I now see in the Jan. 10 paper that Horizon will jam themselves down our throat at Paine Field. This is so frustrating! Since 1978 there has been a written agreement on airport development in place, supported by county government and airport area residents. Apparently this will now be tossed aside?

So now we will need to deal with the noise pollution and additional traffic this will cause, and it’s just too bad for us. And don’t forget the other negatives that will occur: parking lots, increase in other undesirable businesses; take a look at the area surrounding Sea-Tac and see our future! This will not benefit Snohomish County, by a long shot.

Further, why not use Harvey Field in Snohomish? The owners have wanted to expand that field for ages. And isn’t there an airport in Arlington too? Why don’t we hear about those fields, and leave Paine Field alone as agreed in 1978? Breaking the 1978 agreement is completely unethical!
